Grace (she/her)
Grace is a current Master's student in communications at Ball State University. While conducting mixed-methods research on the implementation of debate programs in curriculum, pop culture, and human/object relationships, she serves as the assistant debate coach for the university's British Parliamentary Debate Team. In addition, she teaches a public speaking class at the university. She has coached debaters through breaks at every single tournament as a coach. She also loves to organize debates and select motions, taking the opportunity to CA at the Rocky Mountain Championship in Fall 2025. Grace fell in love with debate her freshman year of college at Regis University, where she won her first championship after just 6 months of competing with no high school experience. She went on to be a finalist in several large tournaments, including the Pan-Pacific championship (x2) and several YODL tournaments. In addition, she was 4th top speaker and quarterfinalist at the Vanderbilt IV (along with her partner and Space City co-founder, Ebenezer).
Aspirations
After finishing her Master’s, Grace hopes to find work helping bring debate to large numbers of students, helping them find their voices and the tools of logic and reason. She hopes to find fun ways to make an impact on people's lives, inside or outside of debate.
