Kashish (she/her)
Kashish is a rising freshman at the University of Houston, where she plans to major in Political Science. She began her Speech & Debate career at Harmony School of Innovation before continuing at Alief Elsik High School, where she competed for three years and served as Debate President for two. Throughout her career, she competed across nearly every speech and debate event, advanced to elimination rounds at tournaments including TFA, NIETOC, and NSDA, and earned Top Overall Speaker awards at multiple local tournaments. She is excited to share the skills, confidence, and love for advocacy that debate has given her with the next generation of competitors.
Aspirations
Kashish plans to attend law school and pursue a career as a human rights or immigration attorney. She is passionate about expanding educational opportunities for students from underserved communities and believes advocacy is one of the most powerful tools for creating meaningful change. Through debate, she hopes to continue empowering students to become confident speakers, critical thinkers, and compassionate leaders.
